Leiomyoblastoma of the Stomach

Abstract

|
Gastric leiomyoblastoma is an unusual smooth muscle tumor which is different from the leiomyoma or leiomyosarcoma on histologic appearance and biologic behavior. It was first described by Martin and others in 1990. The major difference is their
histologic appearance. The leiomyoblastoma is composed of round or polygonal cells instead of spindle cell in light microscopy.
Most of these tumors are benign and have better prognosis than other smooth muscle tumors. Recently, we experienced one case of leimyoblastoma of the stomach in 54 year-old male patient treated with subtotal gastrectomy with good results and
report

brief review of literatures.
